Google Celebrates 1 Billion Android Activation, Officially Named Android 4.4 As KitKat - pakdin.my

Here is yet another interesting news coming from the States just moments ago: Google have officially named the Android 4.4 as KitKat. That’s right – the upcoming version of Android is indeed named after the world famous chocolate bar with the consent of the brand’s owner, Nestle.

While Google and Nestle will indeed embark on Android KitKat marketing activities in 19 countries throughout the world (we will discuss this further in subsequent article), the director of Android global partnership, John Lagerling, insisted that ”this is not a money-changing-hands kind of deal,” in a report by BBC. At this age of leaks, it is indeed amazing that both companies have also managed to keep the name a secret from the world despite the fact that they have already working on it since last year.

Just as per previous Androids, the statue of Android KitKat is now standing in its full glory over at Googleplex in Mountain View alongside previous Android statues. All these take place while the company is celebrating Android’s achievement of hitting more than 1 billion device activation.

At the same time, let’s not forget that Google haven’t actually announce the release date for Android KitKat. Let’s hope that the actual operating system will be able to match the hype that its name have generated today, once it is made available to the consumers…whenever that is.
