A new version of the Slim Bean Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) ROM, with build number JZO54K, has been released. Slim Bean v2.7 offers several new features, including:
- Full system language support
- Fixed default ringtone
- Backup tool
- Multi DPI play store 3.9.16
- Nav bar icon fixed
- Fast charge icon fixed
- New lock-screen Glowpad icon
This firmware is now available for other Android devices as well but is reportedly the first Android 4.1.2 custom firmware for the Samsung Galaxy Note (N7000). Note owners looking to upgrade devices may follow the tutorial below. However, We warns readers it will not be held responsible for damage to the device during installation. We also warns readers this guide is only for the Samsung Galaxy Note (N7000), so verify model number of device before proceeding.
Pre-Requisites
- Ensure appropriate USB drivers for Galaxy Note are installed and USB debugging mode is enabled (to learn how, click here)
- Ensure at least 80 percent battery charge (to check, click here)
- Ensure all important data is backed-up, since this procedure will erase onboard memory
- Ensure device is rooted and ClockWorkMod (CWM) Recovery is installed
To Install Android 4.1.1 JZO54K Slim Bean on Galaxy Note
- Download Android 4.1.2 JZO54K Slim Bean ROM and Google Apps package to computer
- Connect device to computer and copy downloaded files to SD card
- Disconnect device and place in Recovery mode (to do so, first switch device off and then re-start while pressing Volume Up, Home and Power buttons)
- In CWM Recovery, perform complete data wipe
- Now, scroll to Flash Zip from SD card and press Power to select and then select Choose Zip from SDcard, using Power, again, to select
- Use Volume keys to navigate to Jelly Bean ROM file on SD card, select and press Power to confirm installation
- Repeat above step to install Google Apps package
- After installation, navigate to ++++++Go Back and select Reboot System Now from main Recovery menu (this may take up to five minutes)
The Android 4.1.2 JZO54K Slim Bean ROM is now installed on the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. This can be verified by browsing to Settings > About Phone.
