Rafizi Ramli and Tony Pua: the pariahs of Malaysian politics

LSS Report

PKR’s Rafizi Ramli, and DAP’s Tony Pua and Liew Chin Tong, had whacked 1MDB for selling 24% of the Bandar Malaysia project to a Chinese company, of which Malaysians still owned 76% and which the Federal and State Government will still own 57%.

However, these three fellows have been amazingly quiet over these two deals done by Penang’s Lim Guan Eng just a few months ago.

In May 2015, Penang sold 100% of a 20-acre state land for RM30 million to Jabil Circuit Singapore Pte Ltd — a company eventually owned by a USA parent.

And in July 2015, Penang gave 49% ownership of a RM11.3 billion 6.8-acre Penang state land project to Singapore government-owned Temasek Holding and EDIS.

These two projects where 100% and 49% are now owned by Singaporean companies are not called “jual negara” but considered foreign investment?

And somehow, 24% of Bandar Malaysia sold to a China company is considered “jual negara” and not as foreign investment?

Aku tak paham.

Satu Penang kecik jual banyak-banyak. Nanti hari dapat kerajaan pusat buat lebih banyak lagi.

By the way, the sale of Bandar Malaysia was done via international open tender managed by a third party company.

Were your Penang sales for both pieces of land via open tender too? It does not look like it.
