Finally, what has been expected is now officially announced, Adobe just stood up and told the public that there’ll be no support for Flash on Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean and it will never, ever, get certification for Flash. It doesn’t mean that your device will not run Flash completely, this just means that without certification, Adobe will not ensure that web contents will work as they meant to be for the best experience; certified devices typically include the Flash Player pre-loaded at the factory or as part of the system update.
As of 15 August 2012, there’ll be a limitation to access to Flash Player updates on Google Play Store, so only devices that already have the Flash Player installed will be able to access it. Others, like Jelly Bean, will not be able to get it. That said, if your current Android device running on Android 4.0 or earlier does not already have Flash Player, you can install it before 15 August. If your Galaxy Nexus for instance gets upgraded to Android 4.1, “Flash Player may exhibit unpredictable behavior”, says Adobe in a note.
