Back in May, Microsoft has announced a special upgrade program called Windows Upgrade Offer that allows recent Windows-based PC owners to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro for less than RM 50. However, the actual registration process for the program has just been opened earlier this week.
Once all the submitted details have been confirmed by Microsoft, the company will then send a redeemable code of Windows 8 Pro to participating customers alongside instructions on how to download and install the OS to their PC once Windows 8 officially hits the market on 26th October 2012. For our country, the customers will be charged in US Dollar at USD 14.99 which will amount to around RM 47 according to current exchange rate.
As mentioned previously, the offer is only open to customers that purchased brand new Windows-based PCs from 2nd June 2012 to 31st January 2013 and are able to register up to 5 PCs under their name. For existing Windows 7, Vista or XP users, they are still able to upgrade to Windows 8 at a discounted price through a separate upgrade program.
Open to 140 markets throughout the globe including Malaysia, the Windows Upgrade Offer promo is open till 28th February 2013. To learn more, head on to www.windowsupgradeoffer.com.
