A DAP grassroots leader has taken a swipe at Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim for allegedly practising double-standards when dealing with cases involving the issuance of support letters to friends or relatives to secure business contracts.
Taman Gembira DAP branch secretary Teh Teong Guan, who represents 18 party branches in Klang, said he was perplexed no action was taken against Abdul Khalid’s political secretary, Faekah Husin, until now over her alleged involvement in the support letter issue.
“This is totally unfair as the state government was very swift in sacking former Klang municipal councillor Tee Boon Hock from DAP after he was found to have issued a support letter for his son’s company to obtain a contract from the Klang Municipal Council.
“So, how come the MB (menteri besar) is practising double-standards in dealing with similar cases when it involves Faekah.
“I still hope that the menteri besar can do something because this incident has raised many questions among many DAP branch leaders in Klang.
“Abdul Khalid must give an explanation into this issue, at least for the sake of fairness and consistency which the state government is championing,” he told a press conference here Sunday.
