Behind all of the objections given by a few including political parties regarding the Automated Enforcement System (AES), we should be able to see the positive side of it if we are to really look upon the matter.
On the side of traffic officers, the matter of human life has always been their priority, to safe live would mean that they need to have constant observation, education and messages.
With AES cameras set in strategic locations including places that are prone to accidents, could just help reduce amount of accidents due to speeding or careless driving by road users.
That is one of the reasons why the AES was brought in.
But as for road users, many of us are comfortable to drive fast so that it would save time. The faster we drive, the sooner we get to our destination.
But if we are to receive any ticket, the manner of money would then haunt our mind.
The matter of life or death due to accidents rarely cross our mind, that is a fact.
Besides that, aren’t we always mad over the claims where a few police officers often take bribes during roadblocks?
If we are to look at this closely, with AES, the interactions between road users and traffic officers can be reduced, thus, smaller chance of committing bribery.
However, that does not mean that there would not be any bribery case at all, but at least it could be reduced, right?
