After the end of Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat (HKR #KL112), everything goes back to normal. Even though HKR #KL112 failed to gather a million people, at least the organizers managed to collect as much as RM200,000 from supporters who attended.
The matter of number of attendance would often change, some say that it was 100,000, 150,000, 300,000 and some even said 700,000. However, that is not the main issue to be debated.
The important thing here is that HKR #KL112 has proven that Stadium Merdeka’s capacity was only 30,000 and the real attendance was only around 45,000 including supporters from the inside and outside of the stadium, if easily influenced, many would have simply believed the huge numbers which was crunched by the opposition.
Up until now, there are still yet any reports on any riot went on during the gathering. Even if there is, it would just be some small fight between supporters during the arrival of PKR General Leader, Anwar Ibrahim which clashed with the arrival of Kelantan Chief Minister, Nik Aziz Nik Mat at the Stadium Merdeka main entrance.
And as for the involvement of LGBT, human rights activists and liberals in HKR #KL112, it is not an embarrassment because it only shows PR’s commitment as a liberal pact which fights for pluralism agenda.
Even the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak was excited over the event that he congratulate and thanked PR over the smoothness of HKR #KL112.
“The gathering which was organized on the day (last Saturday) had shown that the enforcement of PAA is the right thing to do. Congratulations over the professionalism which was shown by the authorities,” said the Prime Minister in an event in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
PM finally realized that even PR is able to control their spirit so that they would be able to act like regular human, especially when the GE13 is coming closer.
HKR #KL112 acknowledges the change which is being brought by Najib for the country and rakyat. That is why all opposition leaders deserve the congratulatory and thank you note from him.
In short, HKR #KL112 has proven that without cooperation from PR leaders, it would be tough to champion PM’s transformation idea, especially in terms of the Peaceful Assembly Act (PAA 2012), right?
