WhatsApp rise to fame was due to its extremely easy to use, inter-platform messaging. However, the company is not done yet though as WhatsApp has announced a new feature that will be made available to its customers soon. Believe it or not, the said feature is voice calls.
The announcement was made by Jan Koum, its CEO during a MWC 2014’s keynote just few hours ago. Expected to be available sometime this quarter, the voice calls experience on WhatsApp is said to be similar to the service that already being offer by KakaoTalk and Viber.
The new voice calls feature on WhatsApp will be made available to Android and iOS first before being released to other operating system such as Windows Phone and BlackBerry. Looks like even though the company was just acquired by Facebook for quite a lot of money last week, it is still business as usual at WhatsApp.
