1MDB remains focused on Rationalisation Plan
1MDB refers to a statement issued by the DAP this morning. As the DAP knows well, 1MDB is currently under investigation by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and the Auditor-General.
In fact, the Auditor-General presented an interim report on the initial findings of its investigations to the bi-partisan Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in June 2015, with a final report to be issued by year-end.
The DAP is aware of this, with members of the PAC including experienced senior DAP MP YB Dr Tan Seng Giaw and junior MP YB Tony Pua.
The investigations by the lawful authorities are the appropriate forum for the facts and truth to be established.
We are therefore surprised that the DAP seems intent on continuing to make a public spectacle of this, driven by what can only assume are political point scoring considerations.
It is clear that their agenda is driven only by politics and is designed to frustrate and impede the implementation of the 1MDB rationalisation plan, towards which the company continues to make good progress.
1MDB has pledged and continues to provide full cooperation to all lawful authorities investigating the company.
We have consistently maintained that if any wrongdoing is found, then action must be taken under the law.
