ARAU: Pas deputy spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din has reaffirmed the party’s stand that opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim might not be the prime minister if Pakatan Rakyat wins the 13th general election.
“Anwar is only one of the candidates whose names had been suggested and it’s not a must that he becomes the prime minister. There have been other names suggested, including Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang who
was nominated by Pas’ Syura Council.
Speaking after opening the Pas headquarters in Arau on Wednesday night, Haron said Pas would decide only on the prime minister after the general election.
“It depends on all parties, including Pas, agreeing to it or not. What if Pas wins a majority of seats? It is only right the party with the most seats take the lead like in Kelantan.”
