The problem with this story, though, is that Najib did not become Malaysia’s Finance Minister until September 2008 and the Prime Minister until April 2009. Dr Mahathir and Abdullah, however, were certainly in the driver’s seat between 1999 and 2005.

Yesterday, one of my deep throats told me that there is going to be an ‘explosion’ around the eve of Hari Raya. He did not quite tell me what that explosion entails but I was told that they want to ‘bomb’ a certain story around Thursday so that over the long Hari Raya weekend everyone would be just talking about this issue when they meet at open houses and gatherings.
Today, a new story regarding a corrupt act by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak has emerged. It is not Thursday yet so I am not sure whether this is the explosion that my deep throat meant. Anyway, maybe this is a smaller explosion and tomorrow we are going to see an even bigger one.
Whatever it may be, today’s story is about an alleged corrupt act that was supposed to have happened between 1999 and 2005 that involves Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib.
The problem with this story, though, is that Najib did not become Malaysia’s Finance Minister until September 2008 and the Prime Minister until April 2009. Dr Mahathir and Abdullah, however, were certainly in the driver’s seat between 1999 and 2005.
Anyway, today’s story about Najib’s latest financial scandal involving the contract to print polymer bank notes has gone viral. And this will surely be what is going to be the hot topic over Hari Raya when Malaysians meet at open houses and gatherings. In fact, I have already received numerous WhatsApp messages about this matter even now.
But then this may not be the bomb after all. Maybe the real bomb is going to be released tomorrow, as I was told. So let us see what this bomb is going to be and if it is anything like today’s bomb then it would certainly be a dud bomb, just a Hari Raya firecracker that makes a lot of noise but will not harm you unless you grip it tight in your fist.
Don’t you just hate it when I defend Najib?
No, I am not defending Najib. I am defending the truth.
I will also defend Anwar Ibrahim when his enemies accuse him of enjoying sex with all those young Indonesian boys in the Sungai Buloh Prison if that allegation is not true.
I will also defend Lim Kit Siang when his enemies accuse him of planning to turn Malaysia into a republic by abolishing the monarchy if that allegation is not true.
I will also defend Lim Guan Eng when his enemies accuse him of trying to remove Islam as the religion of the Federation if that allegation is not true.
