LAHAD DATU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razk has declared the east coast of Sabah a special security area and an additional five battalions of the police and armed forces will be stationed there to maintain peace and order.
He told a press conference during a brief visit to assess the situation here that the Sulu gunmen must lay down their arms and surrender and “operations against them will go on ‘as long as it takes.'”
He added that the Suluk community leaders in Sabah have pledged their loyalty to the nation and condemned the action of the gunmen.
