PAS should by now announce that the party is leaving the opposition pact given the DAP’s animosity against its basic principles and struggles of an Islamic state and Hudud Laws.
PAS should by now realize that many of its supporters and members are quietly ‘abandoning’ the party because of the animosity of DAP towards the party on Islamic fundamentals.
PAS’ continuous partnership with DAP and PKR is now affecting the party’s strength as the supporters and members at grassroot level are losing patience at the treatment the party gets as partner.
Some supporters and members grumble at PAS leaders who openly go along with DAP and PKR leaders who belittle and look down on PAS Ulamak Council, the wing that guide the party’s struggle and principles, to ensure the party does not deviate from its objective.
Karpal Singh, DAP chairman had belittle the wings saying it is only a wing in a party, literally meaning that the Ulamak Council is nothing and has no power over anything.
PAS leaders should by now realize that the party is only needed to add numbers by getting Malay votes and splitting Malay unity, nothing more than that.
In fact, even the post of Prime Minister will bot be given to PAS as DAP already openly said the party wanted Anwar Ibrahim as PM and PKR, the party Anwar heads is dead set to see Anwar as PM.
PAS supporters and grassroot members are tired with the politics played by leaders of DAP and PKR and much as they wanted to maintain their support to PAS, they do not see much future in PAS objectives and struggle.
So PAS should leave the opposition pact and go on its own, after all there is still time for it to put their struggles back on track and convince its supporters and members it is a party to be reckoned with.
PAS influence in Kedah and Kelantan is eroding and PAS leaders admitted that as a fact, not perception or assumption.
Takiyuddin Hassan, PAS assistant secretary-general admitted this but maintain his believed that the party would still win Kelantan, with lesser majority.
Given the situation and with just three days to polling, it is better for PAS to abandon the opposition pact and go on its own before the party got wipe out with the rest in the opposition pact.
There is nothing more noble than to admit its mistake in partnering or ‘marrying’ DAP and PKR in the first place return to its original path.
